Rakan Al-Manary
Head of Communications
Rakan is a second-year BA International Relations student at King’s College London with a particular focus on foreign affairs, political economy, and investigative journalism.
Of Yemeni heritage and having lived in five countries, he brings a distinctly international perspective to his academic and professional pursuits. His interests centre on the ways in which foreign policy influences state stability, particularly in the context of non-state actors and asymmetrical warfare.
Beyond academia, Rakan is actively engaged in coaching football, playing tennis, and expanding his linguistic repertoire—currently studying French.
As Co-Head of Communications for the society, he draws upon his professional background in photography and journalism to spearhead innovative projects. These include the development of exclusive interviews with diplomats and state representatives, aimed at enhancing the society’s profile and providing members with unique insights into the world of diplomacy.
