Raphaël Maurer
2025/2026 Vice-President
Raphaël Maurer is a second-year International Relations student. Coming from Paris, he is fluent in both French and English, while also studying German and Arabic, reflecting his fascination with numerous cultures. Raphaël’s interest in diplomacy stems from his passion for witnessing history unfold in real time and from his conviction that diplomacy is the art of finding bonds between civilisations towards mutual progress.
Having participated in multiple embassy visits last year, he is eager to provide members with equally enriching experiences during his tenure as Vice-President.
His primary interests lie in conflict resolution, energy diplomacy, and the geopolitical dynamics of the Near East and Europe. Beyond his studies, Raphaël engages in wargaming simulations, reflecting his interest in the tactical dimensions of international relations and loves cinema, with his favourite film being Lawrence of Arabia 🐪.
This year, alongside Lauren, he is committed to fostering a welcoming diplomatic community, while organising extraordinary events that embody the “Bold Diplomacy Energy” of the Society!
